“The Chautauqua County Whitetail Legend”
Ron Madison’s 192 6/8 Monster Buck was taken in Chautauqua County New York on November 20, 2007. This was just the fourth day of the New York State Shotgun Season. Ron had seen the buck a number of times before their final encounter. Just two weeks before, Ron was archery hunting and had this monster walk by at fourty yards through some thick cover. He held off on the shot and he killed the giant whitetail buck a couple of weeks later. The buck was nick named “The Legend” because after Ron and Brian had seen the buck they knew he was very special and who ever shot him would become a legend. Did Ron become a legend? Well that’s to early to tell but we do know he became listed in the top 35 gross scoring bucks in New York State.
